The European Commission decided this Wednesday 07 of December to end in 2014 their help for the development of 19 upcoming countries. Eleven of those countries are from Latin America; among those are Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and Colombia.
Andris Piebalgs, an European Commissioner for Development explained that the new European budget (2014-2020) would focus on helping countries that are really poor. However, Piebalgs added that even if the EU stops helping it will continue to cooperate with countries that need help. (AV)
