The I Regional Business Fair , which takes place until Thursday, September 10, virtually , on the platform created by the Corporation for the Promotion of Exports and Investment ( Corpei ) and the Ministry of Production attracted the attention of buyers from Latin America .

Andrés Cuka, CEO of the company Marbelize SA . ( canned tuna processor ) maintains that in the two days of the event it has addressed the concerns of potential buyers.

“We offer to make brands for clients in their supermarkets or for importers; we currently handle 950 customer brands; We can all produce tuna, but we have rigorous controls and we widely differentiate our range of products, ”he explains.

Marbelize products, in the local market, are found in glass bottles and with added value, he says; but the local is only 3% of its turnover. “We attack all markets, 97% have to look for it.”

The company has reached the European market , but in South America they are already negotiating with Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay , while they are processing their entry into the North American market.

Jorge Félix, Eurofish’s commercial manager , also affirms that they have extensive experience in the sale of canned tuna. “We are one of the most important companies in the country.”

It has its own fishing fleet of 14 tuna boats and is close to receiving the certificates of sustainability standards in tuna fishing ; This has allowed them to enter the European market, where they supply the United Kingdom and France .

At the regional fair, Eurofish seeks to boost its sales in Latin America . “We already sell to Brazil, Chile and Colombia and we continue to strengthen our presence with new clients through this business roundtable”.

While María Isabel González, manager of the commercial area of Agropapoyo , based in Puembo (Pichincha), focuses on the line of organic agricultural products, especially in retail packaged products: organic cassava and banana chips and some dehydrated like banana, pineapple and grapefruit.

“We do not use pesticides in the group of farmers with whom we work,” while pointing out that they target all countries in the region, where there are increasingly niches and awareness of healthy organic consumption .

At the end of the business conference, the organizers will announce the results of the business agreements between exporters and buyers from 8 countries, invited to the event.
