FARC ask Obama for the presence of Simon Trinidad in peace talks

The guerrilla Rodrigo Granda, alias “Ricardo Tellez”, reads a statement next to a life-seize ardboard silhouette of Simon Trinidad.
The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC for its Spanish acronym) have asked the U.S. reelected President Barack Obama to allow the presence of guerrilla leader imprisoned in the North American country, Simon Trinidad, in holding talks with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos at Cuba.
According to the rebels, Obama has the “power to pardon” that is why they requested the measure for Trinidad, who is legally named Ricardo Palmera.
The demand was made last Friday in a statement distributed by the FARC: The physical presence of Simon Trinidad would be a great contribution to peace in Colombia that would make the U.S. government, a gesture of humanity. (MZ)
