Posted On 23 Jul 2014
The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA), yesterday banned U.S. airlines frlying to or from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv in a period of at least 24 hours.
“The notice was issued in response to a rocket strike which landed approximately one mile from Ben Gurion International Airport on the morning of July 22, 2014” said the agency.
The FAA official guideline follows the announcement by major U.S. airlines to suspend their flights to Tel Aviv because of the incident.
As indicated by the FAA, airlines from the United States were notified of the incident immediately after the administration knew it, and were warned that the ban would be issued subsequently.
