Foreign Ministry Suspended the Diplomatic Suitcase Shipping
After Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño determined that from February 14 the delivery of the diplomatic suitcase was suspended, sources said Foreign Ministry that the Chancellor ordered the General Secretariat that from that day, only relevant documents of diplomatic missions abroad Ecuador can be forwarded.
This order came a week after informing the media about the discovery of drugs in diplomatic suitcase. On February 9, Patiño reported that the Italian police discovered 40 kg alkaloid in boxed craft jars inside the suitcase shipped by Ecuador on January 11.
The jars had symbols alluding to a play that was supported by the Ministry. Even the portfolio of State authorized the sending of promotional material through official correspondence.
