Former Ministers warn about the impact on prices

The increase in prices of cigarettes and alcoholic and sweetened drinks, announced by President Rafael Correa last Friday, may involve an increase in other products and does not solve the underlying problem: the lack of government funding.

Fausto Ortiz, former finance minister of this regime; Francisco Swett, former Minister of Economy in the government of Leon Febres-Cordero, and Rene Sanchez, former deputy secretary general of revenues, agreed yesterday in this, during a discussion panel organized by the Association of Economists of Guayas.
