Former Sports Minister Raul Carrion was sentenced to five years in prison for influence peddling

Five years in prison was the sentence for former Sports Minister Raul Carrion, Ministry adviser Fernando Moreno and collaborator of the Ministry Patricio Sanchez, for influence peddling. Attorney General Galo Chiriboga announced this through his Twitter account.
The National Court of Justice issued the judgment. The prosecution submitted eight witness evidence and 34 documents for the crime of embezzlement. “With the evidence submitted by the prosecution at trial hearing the participation of the defendants in embezzlement is demonstrated,” published the Attorney General.
