Gaga Asks for Anti-Bullying Law
The suicide of teenager Jamey Rodemeyer shocked singer Lady Gaga, so much that she wants to meet with President Barack Obama to ask for the creation of an anti bullying law.
“The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someones life.” She continued, “I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey,” tweeted Gaga.
“She makes me so happy. She lets me know that I was born this way,” said Rodemeyer in the It Gets Better video campaign against bullying. He was a 14-year-old living in Buffalo, N.Y. who had endured taunts and bullying online about his homosexuality for over a year before finally ending his life on Sunday, Sept. 18. His parents found him outside the family home on that morning, though police have not revealed the cause of death.
The White House could not confirm that the singer had officially set up a meeting with the President, MTV News informed.
