Posted On 16 Jan 2018

Ecuadornews:

After the ceremony of change of guard, the president Lenin Moreno and the vice-president Maria Alejandra Vicuña knew the works that  are expected to be delivered next week.

An evaluation of the advances in reconstruction in the provinces of Manabí and Esmeraldas was made yesterday by the President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno. The work was carried out after he led the changing of the guard ceremony in the Plaza Grande. “In the guard relay I received the Committee for Reconstruction,” said the President in his Twitter account. The meeting took place after the National Secretariat of Communication reported on the resignation of Carlos Bernal as technical secretary of the Committee, who yesterday explained that his resignation responds to disagreements with the Finance Minister, Carlos de la Torre, related to the withdrawal of $ 300 million from the Solidarity Law.

The President said that the Government will support the two provinces affected in the earthquake of April 16, 2016. “We are working without pause for the economic reactivation of Manabí and Esmeraldas!”, Said Moreno, who reappeared in a public event after suspending several activities last week due to a minor domestic accident that affected his right hand.

He was also accompanied by the Secretary of the Presidency Andrés Mideros and the Vice President María Alejandra Vicuña in the meeting with the members of the Reconstruction Committee. Vicente Véliz, representative of the Executive before the Committee, announced that in the coming weeks 300 homes will be inaugurated in Jaramijó.

He explained that in Portoviejo a park will be delivered, one of the largest in the Litoral. In addition, the construction of the new market for the Calderón parish was reported; the burial in Manta and the beginning of the construction of the hospitals of the cantons of Chone and Sucre (Bahía de Caráquez).

Consultation and dialogue

In the space The President informs, the Head of State stressed the importance of the consultation. “It would have been much easier to impose my opinion on the topics of the consultation, through the sending of laws and reforms to the Assembly,” but his style is to define together the government and the country “that we want.” In addition, he ratified the meeting with the Economy Forum for tomorrow.

Executive met with members of the political bureau President Lenin Moreno led past 18:30 at the Palacio de Carondelet a meeting with members of the political bureau, although until the closing of the edition did not know the issues that were going to be treated in said meeting.

Until 19:00 the entry to the Presidency of Rommy Vallejo, National Secretary of Intelligence was observed; Gustavo Baroja, prefect of Pichincha; Nicolás Issa Wagner, of Real Estate; Fander Falconí, Minister of Education; and of María Fernanda Espinosa, chancellor.

It was expected that the head of state would also meet with Rosana Alvarado, head of the Ministry of Justice; Diego García, Attorney  of the State; Pablo Celi, controller; and Carlos Baca Mancheno, prosecutor, although these last four officials were not seen entering through the main door of the Government Palace. What did draw attention was the arrival to the Presidency of Raul Patiño, exasambleista of PAIS, who declared last week that in the previous legislative period they were prohibited from auditing. This provoked rejection, mainly of the opposition and the correísta wing. The secretary in charge of PAIS, Ricardo Zambrano, also arrived. (I)
