In October 2013, the INTI and the Ministry of industries and productivity (Mipro), signed a strategic alliance to contribute to the strengthening of the value chain of meat in the country.
Alberto Álvarez, Argentine Ambassador in Quito, mentioned that in the country, a 46% of the cattle is used, when Argentina uses a 97%, pointing out that if Ecuador uses a 90%, it would also export.
He added that there are 3 private projects to develop centers of slaughtering. Also, within the framework of the event, it became known that the Government is working on the elaboration of a draft law for the strengthening of the value chain of meat, which was initiated by the Mipro, but will be transfered to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Another initiative that the Government carries out is building airplanes with a 90 to 92% of local content, with the exception of engines and undercarriage, for civil and military use. The Minister of Industries, Ramiro González, yesterday signed an agreement with his counterpart of Defense, María Fernanda Espinosa, to strengthen the aerospace industry.
