Hercules Storm has taken 9 lives so far and frozen a third of U.S.

The first winter storm of the year, Hercules, forced the country to stop a third of its territory due to the low temperatures, which have killed nine people, among other calamities.
In the states of New York and New Jersey, the authorities already declared a state of emergency and urged citizens to remain in their homes, while in Massachusetts, Police and National Guard are organizing evacuation procedures, if necessary.
The storm began on last Thursday in the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, and so far has caused the cancellation of 4,500 flights, the closure of federal offices and up to 60 inches of snow layers in some areas.
The storm is expected to generate temperatures up to -45° Celsius this Saturday.
