Hugo Chavez Reappeared in Caracas
President Hugo Chavez reappeared in Caracas on Thursday to talk about his “battle against cancer” and claiming that “socialist revolution” will stay in Venezuela.
With his military uniform and red beret, Chavez went to the capital’s central Plaza Bolivara and hoisted the Venezuelan flag and to commemorate the bicentennial of Venezuela’s Independence.
The president said he was immersed in a deep thought because of the “ambush” that life has tended him, but he stressed that “the Bolivarian revolution, the socialist revolution” will never again leave Venezuela.
At the end of the ceremony, hundreds of supporters shouted him: “pa’lante (keep moving foward) commander.” Chavez sang folk music along with Cristóbal Jiménez, a popular singer.
