Increase in Fees for Citizenship Papers

Jorge Montaño, national director of the Civil Registry, announced on Friday December 16 the new increase in the cost of paperwork to get citizenship papers.
The procedure to get an identity card went from $ 6 to $ 10 and its duplicate will be worth $ 15. Birth certificates, which previously cost ¢ 0.50, now cost $ 2. The departure permits will cost $ 5 and the matrimonial proceedings rose from $ 6 to $ 50.
