The collection of surcharges since March 2015, affected or not the textile sector? On this and other issues spoke with Daily Expreso Javier Diaz, president of the Textile Industry Association of Ecuador (AITE for its Spanish acronym).
A 5% was paid for raw materials. Between a 15% and 45% were paid for other supplies.Then, obviously these increases, production costs suffered an increase. Therefore, since March we asked the government some modifications. When the Comex resolution to change surcharges was approved, only one subheading of our sector was included in this case. Of course there was an affectation.
