Jimenez denounces supposed possible operative by the Government
They would be painting Special Forces helicopters like police ones to access the community, because they are legally prevented from executing judgments.’
These words were part of the complaint yesterday made the former Assemblyman Cléver Jiménez (PK), who is protected by the people Sarayacu.
Jimenez added that the Government would be preparing a military operation a ‘of high level by the Army special forces’ in the area commanded ‘by the Head of the Presidential Palace, General Luis Castro, by direct order’ of the President.
Given this alleged possibility of incursion by the Government, the President of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities (CONAIE), Humberto Cholango, yesterday asked the government not to carry out any military operation in the area ‘because it may cause disastrous consequences.’
Cholango requested the Executive and the three sentenced to ‘reflect and seek solutions to return peace and quiet and to not endanger the life of any community, town, or nationality.’
