Jorge Glas, “Ecuador needs of strategic partners to industrialize”
During an interview in Beijing as part of the presentation of the industrialization plan of Ecuador, Vice President Jorge Glas said the country needs the help of China and other powers to industrialize. “We need China and other strategic allies to stop being a country that mainly export,” he says.
Glas visits China with a list of “enormous opportunities”: a catalog of projects exceeding $ 20,000 million, ranging from investing and financing proposals to strategic alliances.
“The Chinese have shown more interest in steel and petrochemicals, with stronger numbers when funding,” Glas said.
Glas says the situation is ideal because “the relationship between China and Ecuador has been strengthened on a fast manner” and these kind of visits, “generates confidence.”
