Jorge Rodriguez: The Participation Council has become an udder
Jorge Rodriguez leads a team of citizens that investigate cases of alleged corruption, since they do not trust the work of the Council for Citizen Participation.
How do you assess the performance of the new council?
The Commission for Civic Control was a state, non-governmental body; it did not depend on the Executive branch or any institution. The bureaucracy grew up with this council, but the ability of the staff decreased.
Why did they create a body to do the work that corresponds to the CPC?
We are citizens, social organizations that decided to be a substitute for agencies that do not work, such as the Participation Council that has become an udder that has appointed appointed government officials, not citizens. And it does not fulfill the investigation function …
Do they continue investigating?
We are facing criminal charges (for their complaint of the Manduriacu central), but in January we will give them their late Christmas presents with two cases.
