Posted On 12 Jul 2011
British artist Julian Beever, better known as the “Picasso of Pavement“, yesterday began its work in the first three-dimensional painting on San Francisco square, in Guayaquil.
His canvas is a space in the ground of 35 m2 (7×5 mts.), where Beever will recreate a landscape image with rocks and a waterfall applying the anamorphosis technique, which seeks to create an optical illusion, playing with perspective, using a dry chalk as single instrument attached to the cement.
As soon as the work is finished, a space for people to pose and take pictures will be assigned. His artistic intervention will take place through Friday from 08:00 to 18:00, according to organizers. Spectators can appreciate it for free. (BG)
