Land expropriation law has a clear path

The report approval regarding the presidential objection to the Law on Rural Land and Ancestral Territories just took just 15 minutes.

Thus, the Assembly closed the entire chapter of this new legislation which has 132 articles, 12 general dispositions and 24 transitory provisions.

These new laws will be applied in terms of 180 days to five years. They will include topics such as land adjudication, property registration, how to proceed with paralyzed tramits or regularizing the right of possession.

The law will be published in the Official Registry and will enter into effect. However, this does not mean that the expropriations or land redistribution will be immediate. Such cases will still take more time. (I)
