Land Law is approved by 94% of organizations

This Wednesday the assembly summoned the representatives of second degree of indigenous, peasant and Afro Ecuadorian organizations to participate in provincial public hearings.

Thus initiates the second phase of pre-legislative consultation on the draft Law on Rural Land and Ancestral Territories that will conclude on July 3.

From 490 enrolled organizations, 428 classified in first grade for the first phase; 48 in second grade, for the second, finally 14 national groups will be in the final phase to be held in a dialogue table.

94% of the population surveyed said that most sections do not affect their collective rights. While the remainder showed some concern about certain points of the project.
