Luis Soler is the new coach of Barcelona

He was technical director of Deportivo Cuenca and is from Argentina;  from yesterday is directing Barcelona of Guayaquil under a contract that will last until next December.

Luis Soler was confirmed to replace his compatriot Gustavo Costas, who formalized his departure last Friday, as a result of a poor campaign that got worse with the defeat in the classic  and the elimination from the  South American Cup losing 0-2 to Mineros of Venezuela.

If he delivers good results, Soler has the option to renew his contract for one year, Barcelona said in a statement.

Another candidate of Barcelona, besides  Soler, would have been the Argentine Carlos Ischia, who won the title with Deportivo Quito, in 2011 but would have refused. It also rang the name of the technical director of the selection, Hernán Darío “bolillo” Gómez.
