Mexico seizes drugs in bags that came from Ecuador
Mexican authorities seized 1,920 bags of 25 kilos each, which contained sand mixed with cocaine in two containers coming from Ecuador, which were bound for Spain, reported the Customs Service and the Navy of Mexico.
The seizure of the cargo occurred in the Manzanillo Port, when the authorities inspected the containers that brought bags closed with drawstrings that apparently contained sand.
The two containers carried nearly 1,920 bags of 25 kilograms each that allegedly contained sand contaminated with a substance that, after tests, turned out positive for cocaine, authorities said.
The discovery was made during a routine in the area where downloaded containers of the “CMA CGM Ganges” ship coming from Guayaquil, Ecuador, were stored, and were bound for Valencia, Spain.
