Miguel Angel Murgueytio creates visual art for Cirque du Soleil

Posted On 07 Jun 2017

Ecuadornews:

This new proposal presented by Cirque du Soleil in the Heart stage of Ibiza features the work behind the scenes of visual artists in charge of mapping and providing the audience a multisensory experience. Artist Miguel Angel Murgueytio, an Ecuadorian who graduated from the Catholic University and is now studying a master’s degree in Multimedia Creation and Serious Games in Barcelona will be part of the working team.

Although this new project began in May and will continue until October, Murgueytio comments that preparations began in February. “Heart’s team is made up of more than 200 professionals in gastronomy, music, stage and audiovisual art,” he says.

Although he has worked on mapping projects, audiovisual installations, immersive projections and live visuals, the artist believes that this is the biggest project he has ever done in his life. This show is a fusion between technology, creativity and innovation. “The project for Heart and Cirque du Soleil is the most important in my professional career.” (I).
