Military warn they will take to the streets
A group of retired officers met yesterday in Guayaquil to define actions in defense of the Institute of Social Security of the Armed Forces (ISSFA).
Alejandro Valverde, core member of the Board of the ISSFA, said that pensioners reaffirmed their support for the head of the institution to not return the money that was received for the land currentyl occupied by the state.
“It’s a total rip-off, we were trained to fight, and now we will fight for our money, this is an injustice,” said the retired officer.
He added they expect to hold meeting of generals and admirals to analyze a possible demand.
Mario Pazmino, former director of military intelligence, pointed out that the ISSFA will react against the measure announced by the Government, as its position is “clear and firm” in relation to the resources received by the sale of land parcels in Los Samanes.
