Monthly payment of profits will not be changed
President Rafael Correa reiterated yesterday that the government will not back down on the monthly payment of the profits of the thirteenth and fourteenth wages, as reflected in the proposal of the Labour Code delivered last Thursday.
The text of 528 articles, is posed the option for some workers to perceive the tenths wages monthly. Upon written request of the employee the first wage shall be paid in December, and the second, before the start of the school year.
‘That argument does not withstand scrutiny. That decision will not go back, but makes it very clear: the monthly allocation of profits is only win, no one loses,’ said Correa during his Weekly address.
For the President this option represents ‘to increase options, margins for action And opportunities.’
