At least 81 people, including 23 members of Al Qaeda, were killed in Russian bombings against a complex of the Islamist group located in northwestern Syria, reported on Sunday an NGO, revising upwards its previous balance.

Saturday’s attacks were directed against a complex of buildings in front of Nosra, the branch of Al Qaeda in Syria, in the city of Maarath Al-Numan, in the province of Idleb, said the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (OSDH).

The complex, located next to a crowded market, includes a prison and a religious court of al Qaeda.

The dead include 23 militants of Al Nosra and six non-Islamist rebels who were in the building. 52 other people also were killed, including civilians and prisoners.
