Moreno would earn a salary equal to that of an ambassador

On average, the monthly salary earned by former vice president Lenin Moreno as a Special Envoy of the UN on disabilities would be the same of an ambassador or an official with that range. This was revealed to daily La Hora by an internal source of the Foreign Ministry.

According to official information, published on the website of the agency, ambassadors abroad earn between $ 9,000 and $ 18,000.

The Chancellery publishes the information on ‘monthly remuneration for every charge (April 2016),’ covered by Article 7 of the Law of Transparency and Access to Public Information (LOTAIP).

According to the diplomatic source, these average salaries are calculated according to the cost of living in the city or the country where the diplomatic is serving his mission. The same source confirmed that an official of that level who works with an international organization generally holds the rank of ambassador.

Rosangela Adoum Jaramillo, with the rank of ‘Consul General Advisor,’ would be part of the work team of Moreno. According to the same official information from the Foreign Ministry, her salary is 6,744.32 dollars.

In the government, Adoum also served as general coordinator for presidential contents or the speeches unit of the Presidency.
