MTV Movie Awards, a gala full of eccentricities
The MTV Movie Awards, like all awards of this network is characterized by its presenters, live performances and above all its eccentricities. This year was no exception, and the big winners on Sunday night were the Avengers and the tragicomedy Silver Linings Playbook.
The Avengers took three popcorn statuettes after winning the Best Film of 2012, Best Fight and Best Villain (Tom Hiddleston). While “Silver Linings Playbook” had triple achievement for Best Actor (Bradley Cooper), Best Actress (Jennifer Lawrence), as well as winning Best Kiss between this two actors. During the night, the first trailer of “The Hunger Games, Catching Fire” sequel was broadcasted.
Among the peculiarities of this ceremony, hosted by Australian actress Rebel Wilson, were Seth Rogen and Danny McBride, who dropped their pants to present an award with Zac Efron. Will Ferrell also starred in a strange suit in dollars print. The actor, who’d just been named Comedic Genius, was interrupted in the middle of his speech by actress Aubrey Plaza, who took the stage and tried to take his trophy.
Emma Watson and Jamie Foxx received honorary awards. Foxx also won another award for “best strange moment” for a scene with Samuel L. Jackson in Django Unchained. Taylor Lautner, won the award for “Best shirtless performance” for his role in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2.
