Nadal Will Not Play in Davis Cup
The number one tennis player of the world, Rafael Nadal will not participate in Davis Cup that Spain would play against United States next month. The Spanish player of Mallorca complained that the tournament risked losing its prestige due to an insensible calendar.
Nadal informed that he will not play because the first is to be healthy, for now he needs to rest. Recently doctors said that Nadal needs to check his knees to see how the previous treatment has worked for him. The Spanish player said that the International Tennis Federation (ITF), made bad choices regarding the schedule of Davis Cup. “they have zero sensibility towards us, the players. If the best players don’t attend the tournament this loses its prestige.”
The Spaniard is currently defending his title in the British Wimbledon tournament. Afterwards Nadal will rest until the beginning of the Open in United States that starts in August 29 to September 11. (AV)
