NATO Actions in Libya Will Not Stop
Posted On 22 Jun 2011
On Wednesday, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, general secretary of NATO, refused to stop the operations of the allies in Libya after the Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, requested “an immediate cessation of hostilities” in Libya with the intention to organize humanitarian corridors to assist the population.
NATO “will continue its mission because if we stop, many civilians could be killed,” Fogh Rasmussen said in a statement; he did not mention Rome’s call. (MS)
