NATO Strikes at Gaddafi Compound
Once again NATO attacked the compound near the Libyan dictator Muammar al Gaddafi in Tripoli. During the early hours of Thursday morning a series of loud explosions shook the city and smoke could be seen above the fortified compound of the Libyan leader.
NATO warplanes have repeatedly targeted the area of Bab al-Aziziya, compound were Gaddafi resides. The strikes of the North Atlantic alliance are debilitating Gaddafi’s military and government positions, this has increased the tensions of remove him from power, but the Libyan dictator continues to endure.
Amid the bombings attacks, Mikhail Margelov, the Russian envoy met with senior Gaddafi officials. During his visit, Margelov said that Gaddafi has lost his legitimacy. The Russian envoy is expected to meet with Al-Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi, the prime minister.
The Libyan dictator described the rebels as criminals and al-Qaeda fighters, he also accused the NATO intervention as an act of colonial aggression that seeks to obtain the Libyan oil. (AV)
