Nelson Mandela was discharged
The former South African president is still delicate and his situation is critical, but doctors have decided to move him to his home where he has renovated a space where he will receive intensive care. Mandela was discharged from the hospital in Pretoria yesterday after being admitted on June 8 and will remain at his home in Johannesburg.
Mandela’s return to his home was announced by the current President of South Africa, who said Mandela, 95, remains in critical condition and sometimes unstable, but her medical team is confident that he will receive the same level of intensive care at home.
Mandela arrived at his home before noon on a private ambulance, escorted by the police. On the street of Mandela’s residence, curious tourists left offerings in his honor.
The Government reported that, “if his health conditions require hospital admission in the future, it will be done,” added the source.
