Owner of the Store that Caught Fire Passed Away

This morning Lauro San Andres Ordonez passed away. He was a victim of the fire occurred on Monday in downtown Guayaquil.
Ordoñez was seriously injured when his painting workshop caught fire. The flames caused him a third degree burn in 92% of his body. Jorge Vanegas Parreno, local resident, said he saw Ordoñez’ body in flames when he was assisted by Martin Ellis, owner of a fire extinguishers business.
The death occurred at 5:00 in the burned area of Luis Vernaza Hospital after several life-saving interventions. However, the severity of the burns patient originated in the multi-organ failure that caused him a cardiopulmonary arrest.
