Patiño justifies Correa’s offenses in Argentina
Foreign Minister of Ecuador, Ricardo Patiño, said today that President Rafael Correa, lamented himself during an interview with C5N when talking about the 1994 bombing of the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA for its Spanish acronym) in Buenos Aires, calling it “grievous.”
“@MashiRafael lamented and called the attack on the Jewish community in Argentina in 1994 as “grievous.” He said it in an interview with C5N,” Patiño wrote through his Twitter account.
As for what Correa said about the “importance” of the attacks on Libya over the one occurred in Argentina, Patiño said, “The life of every person is worthy of respect, without shameful discrimination. It’s not worthy condemning some attacks and remain silent about others. ”
Meanwhile, leaders of the International Center Simon Wiesenthal asked the Argentine government to claim “an immediate apology” from Correa for what they consider his “contempt for the victims of terrorism sponsored by Iran.”
Correa has not yet pronounced on the matter. (MZ)
