Payment of profits will be inspected by Ministry

Minister for Employment Relations, Carlos Marx Carrasco, said yesterday during an interview on a local media, that today, April 15 is the deadline for the payment of utilities that companies should do to workers, so it will be verified this is  met.

The Labour Code provides that the delay in the deposit of profits is sanctioned `with the double of the not deposited amount.´ In addition, it includes the penalty for misrepresentation of utilities which is punishable by ten to twenty minimum salaries.

Carrasco said that the legalization of the utilities payment will be performed via internet based on the ninth digit of the Taxpayer Registration.

Regard to businesses which are declared with zero profitability for three years, Carrasco said this financial situation will be verified, `because it can not be understood how a company which is supposed bankruptcy, remains in force.`
