President Dilma Rousseff reduced the distance that separates her from environmentalist Marina Silva in a possible second round of presidential elections on October in Brazil, revealed on 9 September a survey by the MDA firm, which indicates a tie between the two candidates.
According to MDA, Silva would get a 45.5% of the vote against a 42.7% of the current President, a difference of less than three points that leaves the result undefined and considered a “technical draw” because it is within the margin of error.
In late August, the difference was of 43.7% for the environmentalist against to a 37.8% for Rousseff.
For the first round, on 5 October, Rousseff still leads with a 38.1% of the intention to vote against a 33.5% for Silva.
