Poroshenko orders to open humanitarian corridor for civilian of Donetsk and Luhansk
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has ordered to open a humanitarian corridor to allow the exit of the people of Donetsk and Lugansk, regions of this country where fighting continues between the Ukrainian army and rebels who do not recognize the authority of the central government .
The opening of the corridor is a request of Russian and rebels. Kiev had not accepted this so far because they considered their attacks in the east were part of an “anti-terrorist” operation that did not harm civilians.
Poroshenko has ordered his security forces to open a safe passage for civilians who want to leave the combat zone, and to secure their transportation, health care and the allocation of water, food and medicine.
Although Poroshenko´s initiative promotes its goal of achieving a ceasefire this week, the Ukrainian army has not stopped attacks in Slaviansk, Kramatorsk and Krasny Liman, bastions of the self-proclaimed Republic of Donetsk.
