Pre-legislative consultation will depend on the CAL
Posted On 03 Nov 2014
The Administrative Board of the Legislature (CAL for its Spanish acronym) will determine whether the Organic Law on Cooperation and Coordination between systems of indigenous and ordinary justice are subjected to pre-legislative consultation before being approved on second reading.
The bill, which passed its first reading in the plenary of the Assembly, was submitted by the President of the Commission on Justice, Mauro Andino (AP).
The decision was taken in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court (CC), which ordered the Assembly to approve a new legal body that will regulate the application of indigenous justice.
