President Correa requests license for election campaign
The President, Rafael Correa, asked the National Assembly, for a license to accompany the candidates of Alianza Pais at the start of the election campaign. First he requested two days, 7 and 8; but yesterday he included 10, starting at 12:00.
It is not the first time that the President requests a license, the first time was to participate in the electoral campaign of 2013 and was granted between January 15 and February 15, 2013.
He will accompany the candidates as President of the Alianza Paid movement. The ruling party plans for the head of State to accompany their candidates today in Zamora, Loja and Azuay. Tomorrow will be in Morona, Pastaza and Tungurahua.
The extension of the license would be to accompany the candidates of Guayas,on Friday afternoon. He is expected to be next to the candidates of Pichincha on Thursday, though that day is not included in the request made to the legislature.
Apparently, it will be in areas where the opposition still has some representation. In Azuay and Zamora Chinchipe, for example, the fight will be for the Prefecture, controlled by a local movement and Pachakutik.
Rafael Dávila, from Loja and aspirant to the prefecture by CREO, says that PAIS strategy demonstrates the weakness of the pro-Government candidates in certain provinces.
