President of Argentina states that the oposition wants to “overthrow the government with foreign aid”
The President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, said yesterday during a national radio and television broadcast: “If anything happens to me, no one look to the East, look to the north”. The President warned that there would be, according to her, “concentrated sectors” that want to “overthrow the government with foreign aid”.
The President described the American judge Thomas Griesa as “senile”, adding that he wants to “wipe out the sovereignty” of the country.
Fernandez said she would not be surprised if “in 20 days they put us economic sanctions or they want to put me on jail when I go to New York. I’ll go anyway, I clarify them”, she said.
The President referred to a letter issued by the American Embassy in Buenos Aires, in which American citizens were warned on the insecurity in Argentina.
The Argentinian President described the warning as a provocation. “It’s a provocation that I will not fall into”, she said. “Surely the man who wrote it said ‘now I will provoke her and make her angry and I’m going to be taken out of the country´, but we will not take him out of the country”, she said.
