Yesterday the Ministry of Foreign Trade signed in Guayaquil an interagency cooperation agreement so all public agencies involved in the trading process implement it.
The method is to apply logistical protocols. Ie implement a kind of methodological guide to clarify and set the steps to export merchandise and do it as efficiently as possible.
It shall apply to the five major export products of Ecuador: bananas, shrimp, flowers, tuna and cocoa. These represent 70% of non-oil exports. “We hope it can be extended to others such as oil, broccoli, canned fruits, etc.,” said Daniel Legarda, vice president of the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters.
