Quito Airport fulfills six months and defends its efficiency
After six months that the Tababela airport was opened, the operator of Quiport clarifies some doubts, especially in a well known front of the travelers who frequent the Ecuadorian capital because they are not comfortable with the airport location. Regarding this Luis Galarraga, an experienced journalist, media and communications manager of Quiport, made some remarks.
Galarraga reported that since the sixties it was being studying the need to find a safer place for the Quito airport, especially due to the urban growth.
The decision to build in Tababela, was taken after a series of studies conducted by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DAC), which ran all the airports. DAC determined that the most appropriate place was Tababela.
“We must clarify something important: we always spoke of an airport of height. This is an airport of height and, as such, it can not be expected that the geographic and climatic conditions are the same as those of an airport on the coast or in the plain,” said Galarraga.
The Quiport manager recalled that at the old airport accidents occurred every year, and that will not be the case of Tababela since the characteristics of the airport did not allow it and added the absence of an urban area around him.
Galarraga finished by saying that the City Hall is working very hard, and the airport will have three access roads and will be one of the best connected in the region.
