Quito celebrates its festivity with bullfights
Posted On 06 Dec 2012
Yesterday afternoon, the traditional bullfighting was held in Quito, as part of the celebration of its foundation. This time the bullring was placed in the Belmonte Plaza (Historic Center of Quito).
With three quarters of the plaza filled with fans, and a tenuous and intermittent rain, bulls from Huagrahuasi, Triana and El Pinar were run.
Antonio Ferrera and David Galvan were praised with applause after cutting two and three ears respectively, while locals Martín Campuzano and Alvaro Samper cut one symbolic ear each.
At the end of the celebration Ferrera and Galvan left the premises carried by fans to the rhythm of “Chulla Quiteño”.
