Rafael Correa confirms unemployment increase in Ecuador, but assured that is the lowest in the region

President Rafael Correa inaugurated works in Morona Santiago. In this context, on Tuesday, January 19th, in a conversation with the media, he confirmed that the unemployment rate in the country has increased. However, he said that is the lowest in the region.

The president referred to the nine years of his presidential term. He said that when reviewing the speeches of previous anniversaries, he found that everything he offered has been fulfilled, with the exception of the consolidation of Banco del Sur, although the Government has promoted it.
