During the past five months, and for three times the Social Security Institute of the Armed Forces (ISSFA) has asked the National Government to pay a debt held since 2014 and to credit the amounts needed to cover the benefits of 229,042 affiliates.

Last May 30 was the last time ISSFA director Juan Francisco Vivero requested Finance Minister Fausto Herrera to transfer the resources “immediately.”

The last letter of request revealed that the accounts of the Institute have barely a balance of $ 1’194.278 and $ 52,783, “which do not cover the pensions of May.” It insists that a debt of $ 361’160.161 “for pensions, employer and individual contributions and portfolio recovery” is still hold.
