Regime began yesterday with ministerial changes
Yesterday, during a press conference in Guayaquil, President Rafael Correa, revealed that, by Decree 1468, which was signed last Monday, Cecilia Vaca Jones is the new appointed Coordinator Minister of Social Development instead of Richard Espinosa, who now takes over as Coordinator Minister of Production, Employment and Competitiveness.
Vaca served as technical secretary in the Ministry she now leads, while Espinosa assumes his third ministerial position, as practiced before at the Ministry of Labour Relations.
Espinosa enters the office to replace Santiago Leon, who irrevocably resigned for personal reasons.
Correa also foretold there will be changes in the executive branch. However, he would not give details. The president just said that they are evaluating the various profiles and that they will be announced in due course.
Correa meets with his party
In a workshop that brings together the 100 elected assembly members of Alianza PAIS and the committee that selected the candidates, the president said he will discuss about the coordination between the executive and the legislative branches, and will advise them on certain topics, like being prepared for the “psychological war” which, according to him, “the corrupt press” and the opposition, will start.
