Request for impeachment for Augusto Espinosa for cases of sexual abuse

CREO Legislator Jeannine Cruz announced at a press conference her intention to impeach the former Minister of Education, Augusto Espinosa, a current Alianza PAIS legislator.

The reasons: to supposedly keep silence of the abuse of minors in schools during his administration, for responsibility and indolence before the death of teachers with catastrophic illnesses.

According to Cruz, the legislator knew of the existence of 100 complaints of child abuse per year “and never did anything.”

Cruz affirmed that there are reports from international organizations that hold Espinosa responsible. “The State should no longer be complicit in the damage that has been done to our children, to our youth,” she said. (I)
