Samsung’s New Ultrabooks Have Optical Disc Drives
Posted On 12 Dec 2011
Samsung released a new series of ultrabooks. These laptops have a 14-inch screen and an optical disc drive that makes them super light and thin.
The 14-inch ultrabooks are 20.9 mm thick, weigh 1.8 kg, they have an aluminum case and come with an optical drive, SSD or hard disk storage (up to 1 TB), HDMI and Ethernet ports and an option for a Radeon HD 7550M GPU.
There is also a 13-inch model that is 14.9 mm thick, lacks the optical disc drive and the Radeon GPU option, which reduces its weight to just 1.4 kg. It has a maximum of 500 GB storage, and also comes with HDMI and Ethernet ports.
The 14-inch model will start at $1,345, while the 13-inch one will be starting at $1,300. Samsung’s ultrabooks should be available in Korea in late December. International release date and prices remain unknown.
