Secretariat for Management Transparency would file “lagging complaints”
The Secretariat for Transparency Management, part of the Ministry of Public Administration, regulated its internal instruction manual to deal with complaints of alleged acts of corruption within the national government.
According to the document, signed on August 27 by the previous secretary Pedro Solines (current head of the Secretariat of Administration), there is a “significant number of lagging complaints since 2009” that remain in investigation.
For the institution, due to “the passing of time it is complicated, and in many cases impossible” the collection of evidence to discover the facts.
This work, according to the text, “demands the investment of valuable resources,”so it was decided that the Deputy Secretary of Investigations analyzes the complaints lodged from 2009 to 2013 and which are lagging behind, “and resolve the relevance of the file.”
