Staffing Hierarchy Regulation was approved

The Higher Education Council (CES for its Spanish acronym) debated for five hours, the draft Regulation of Career and Salary Structure of the Professor and Researcher of the Higher Education System.

The Higher Education Council discussed the staffing hierarchy regulation for 5 hours until finally approve it.
Following the document’s approval, the requirements were established for each of the categories of teachers provided by the Regulation:
Assistant Contractor
- (Up to 3 years experience)
- Have at least recognized expertise by the National Secretariat of Education, Science and Technology (Senescyt for its Spanish acronym).
- Winning the competition based on merits and opposition.
Added Holder
- (Has 5 years of service)
- Have created at least three works of relevance.
- Having obtained 75% of the evaluation score.
- Sufficiency of language other than their main language.
Main Contractor
- (Has 7 years of service)
- Having Ph.D. in their area of teaching.
- Have created 12 works of relevance.
- Participation in one or more research projects.
Titular Researcher
- (No set time)
- Having Ph.D.
- Have created 12 published or patented articles relevant or indexed works.
- Participation in one or more research projects.
Invited Scholar
- (No specific time)
- Having doctorate Ph.D. or its equivalent.
- The other requirements as determined by the Higher Education Act in force since 2010.
Occasional Scholar
- (Teachers hired)
- Having minimum mastery.
- The contractual bonding time may not exceed 24 months. Once that period concludes, acting staff must cease functions.
